What makes Tasia wet?

Water, of course. Geez, gutter head.

So, my day started off wet and steamy..

(Yes, that says "STEAMY")

And just stayed wet all day.

(Awesome clouds there, yeah?)

So, today has been a very wet, but overall good, day. I generally like this type of weather. I could have done without the FREEZING ass cold, but, it was decent. Loved the rain. Loved the overall look of town today. mmm so pretty.

(PS this is Day 12)

Bags, Bags, everywhere!

So, I've really been on a bag kick here as of late. Originally, I had planned to make bags for my nieces up in Miami for Christmas. But, every time I make one, I like it and want to use it! And I'm not a bag person! I think, though, I like these ones so much because they're "me" and "my style" as opposed to something someone else thought up. KWIM?

So, I made this one yesterday, (Day 11) and it's all fuzzy and patchy and I like it. I need to make one like it but a little bigger. This ones slightly small. Perfect for a niece type person though! Who knows, maybe this will be one of the ones that make it to them!

Oops Slacking

Day 10 has come and gone, and where was I? Slightly busy. Very slightly.

I'll admit it. I've become addicted to Charlie Bean. I LOVE their hot chocolates. I only had that mocha once, but man it was good. I'm really considering trying something to munch on the next time I stroll in there. Oh, and my gift card thing, I can reload it as much as I want. How cool is that?

Lets see.. Yesterday Mehkaelie and I put together her gingerbread man. Our "assignment" was to decorate the gingerbread man together. She wanted to make Santa. So, we did.

She did most all of the designing, I cut. Cute, huh?

We have two birds nests in our tree :) I thought that was kinda cool.

And the sky yesterday amused me. It looked like someones hand had swiped through the clouds.. It was cool, so, of course, I got a picture.

Next!

So.. Day 9. Not much to report today except for my previous post about the Gwee. Otherwise things have been pretty "decent" today. I've felt a lot today, though, that some things just aren't how they seem. I don't really know how to elaborate on that right now..

I stopped in Charlie Bean again and ordered a 20oz hot chocolate with whipped cream. The guy that was making my drink was an odd, but interestingly amusing, fella. He started going on about how this was going to be the best hot chocolate I've ever had and therefore wouldn't want to make one on my own ever. He also made a comment, and I'm not sure how we even got on this topic, about how he wouldn't eat me but had planned to be eaten himself once he died. So as not to let anything go to waste. Keep in mind, I'm 99% sure this guy was just being .. something .. not serious anyhow. I think it was just his attempt at making conversation. He did tell me I should come back, ask for him, and order an apple cider, and if he weren't there I shouldn't purchase one lol. I think I will do that sometime this week.

Okay, so .. random contrasty type of picture for you. This is where we generally sit when we wait on our children after school. I thought it looked cool.

Gaia Online

So, you've heard me mention before about Gaia Online. Recently I had decided to order a Gwee from them. I ordered this item on October 27, which was a Saturday. So, obviously, I figured they wouldn't get to the order for the processing and such for a few days. No biggy, right? On no other than Halloween day, October 31, I received an email stating that everything had gone through and they had shipped my Gwee! I was excited about this. I figured that being as it was the end of the year, it might take a week or so to get to me. I waited a full week before I contacted them. I wasn't in any huge rush, but I was just wanting to make sure everything was still on track and whatnot, since through Gaia Online, you can't track your orders. I received a very impersonal email back saying nothing more than my order had been shipped and depending on where it shipped from (no, they didn't tell me) it could take a while. Okay.... I wait a while longer (another week) and email them back again. I still haven't received my item and it has certainly been enough time, right? Again I receive almost an identical email about how my order has been shipped and depending on where it shipped from it could take a while, and also because of the holidays it could take a while longer. Yeah.. So.. I wait another few days before I email them back once again (by this time it had been 14 business days, and a total of 20 days since I had ordered my item, which just for shits and grins cost only 4ish dollars and shipping was 6ish. Yeah.. ) I am a bit more stern in this email and ask that if they are going to give me a canned response again to please direct me to someone that can expedite this issue. This time I receive an email saying they will look into it. I thank them. They send me another email saying they will "reship" my item the next morning. What??? Had my item not been shipped??? I don't know. It finally arrived today. Exactly a month after I had placed the order. Yeah.. Wow. Such an annoyance. So, I personally do not recommend buying from these people until they get on the ball and ship from somewhere that you can track. Their customer service sucked. The item has already broken, very cheaply made. Shipping was obviously a nightmare. I doubt there's any chance I buy from them again.

Charlie Bean

As I said previously I stopped by Charlie Bean on my way to pick up Mehkaelie from school. I have heard nothing but good things from another mom from the school and received a gift card so I figured, hey, it's time to check this place out.

So.. My evaluation (man, I need to start doing this again, huh? Remember when I used to do them all the time? haha)

Keep in mind, I am no where near a connoisseur of coffee. I generally prefer to not even drink coffee of any sort unless it is loaded down with something sweet to knock out the bitter/harsh taste of plain, flat coffee.

First impression - Just parking was "uhh.. where do I go in?" There were doors just in front of where I parked and then doors to the right. I decided, like the observant and awesome detective I am, to go into the ones directly under the CHARLIE BEAN sign. (Yes, I'm one smart cookie.) I pull the left door. Locked. Oops. I pull the right door. Opens! Score! I walk in and immediately spot Rosemary "the other mom" and her son nestled cozily in front of the very cute fireplace and rather large flat panel television that was mounted just above the cute fireplace on the wall. To the right is a gal sitting there on her laptop working somewhat diligently next to the outlooking windows. To the left is a very packed counter and cold case full of goodies, a crazy large menu of things they have to offer, and two young men standing there that appeared to be almost giddy from the caffeine surrounding them.
So, overall ambiance. It was a lot smaller than I'd imagined for the size of the building, but it was cozy and almost intimate at the same time. So, 3.5/5. (Not bad!)

Ordering/Staff - Not knowing exactly what I wanted, but still having a fairly good idea, I ordered "Something hot and chocolate, Hot Chocolate will do." Being clever, one of the two males working (There were only two from what I saw) recommended a Mocha. "Grande Mocha" is what the receipt says. Then they both decided they were going to figure out my drink together. With little input from me. Caffeinated, chocolate, hot. These were the things they were going on. They began working in tandem, quite smoothly I might add. One of them added an "extra shot" (of chocolate I'm guessing) while the other gasped in amazement and disbelief remarking that the fellow had "ruined his drink!" Ruined MY drink. Yes, I asked "you ruined my drink?" He told me if I didn't like it and it was indeed ruined, he would take full responsibility for it. Once they were finished concocting my beverage, they handed it to me and watched closely as I took my first drink. Pause for the finish of this section.
For not giving them much to go on.. they did really well working together to come up with something with the few things I did specify. Caffeinated, chocolate, hot.
As I just stated, they did work together very well. There seemed to be a very welcoming vibe coming from both of them and they were both very cheerful, well groomed, and on top of things. So, as far as ordering and staff are concerned, I give them a 5/5. This my friends, has only happened one other time. Pretty special stuff.

Now, onto the product. I'm still not 100% sure what I had. Like I said, I'm guessing it was something like a Mocha with a double shot of chocolate? But, hey, I could have that completely backwards. Or no where near right. Either way.. It was delicious. I could taste the coffee in it, but it wasn't strong, nor was it bad. I was actually very surprised that it didn't leave a coffee-aftertaste in my mouth. I could smell it on my breath but after I swallowed and the initial aftertaste you get from drinking/eating anything went away, I couldn't taste the coffee any longer. Only the sweet, chocolaty, creamy goodness that was mixed in. It wasn't disgustingly sweet like I have to admit I was almost expecting it to be. It wasn't overly coffee'fied. It was the perfect combination of the two, with the chocolate outweighing the coffee flavor significantly, which in my book is perfect. I really wish I knew exactly what it was so I can re-order it exactly the same.. I'll have to go back again and see if they remember by some random chance in hell.
Overall impression of what I ordered. 3.5/5 (There was some graininess going on at the bottom that I just couldn't bring myself to finish. It also cooled off quite quickly, although for being in 30/40 something degree weather, didn't entirely surprise me, however it wasn't "hot" to begin with. Just mildy warm.) I'm realllllly tempted to go for 4, but, can't. So, 3.5.

As for their menu. Holy. They offer a lot of things. Not just coffee/beverage items. I saw things ranging from sandwiches, to deserts, to salads. I will have to go in when I have more time and have a bite to eat.

Price. This is the part that everyone looks for, right? I think what I had was a 16oz. I'm about .. 98% sure that's the size I got. It was 3.55 before tax, 3.86 after. Now, personally, for this particular beverage, I think the prices was perfect. I would have gladly went one dollar more and still came back for the same thing.
So, price 4.5/5.

Overall I was very surprised at my first experience with Charlie Bean. I will definitely be a repeat customer. I am happy to get to share this experience with all of you and hope that you all will check it out as well. I'd love to read your thoughts and opinions on this place if/when you go!

And of course, what is a Tasia blog without a few pictures!

1wk+1d

That's right bloggers/blog readers. It's Day 8.

I woke up this morning to a slight coating of snow on the ground..

We got to Mehkaelie's school at noonish like we always do, and by then all the snow had melted and left tons of water. At Mehkaelie's school, they have a man-made drainage ditch.
Here is a picture I took on "Day 1" when I started this lovely photo thing.

This is what happens when it actually drains..

And this is where they line the small children up to wait for their parents/guardians to pick them up after school..

And this, is how far out it drains, into the parking lot, where parents line up to pick up their small children..

Lovely, 'eh?

The sky this afternoon was beautiful. The jets flying around and leaving their tails behind them made it very enjoyable for me :)!

On my way to pick Mehkaelie up from school, I decided I was going to need something hot to get me through sitting in the cold waiting on her. I decided to stop by Charlie Bean. I'm fixing to give it it's own post. Yes, it is that important.

Oh yeah, one more thing - Look - Snow!

Sorry about the tiny pic - was taking pictures earlier and changed the size thing, too cold to take another one :D But look! Snow! Sadly, I think this is all the snow we're getting for now :(

Okay, goodnight now.

One week, check!

It's been a really long night, so I'm going to just make this one short and sweet, if you don't mind :)

I spy with my little eye, a finished blanket!
(It looks better in person, too big to fit all of it in the picture, and .. yeah.. )

Okay, that's it. That's all I've got for ya today. Was preoccupied, didn't take many pictures, obviously.. lol

Hope you all had a great weekend. Here comes the week! (BOOOOO!)

Six, Seis, Sechs, Sei

That's right, Day 6!
Only two pictures for you today, though. I know.. Slacker.

So, drumroll? And without further ado ..

A Christmas tree from Wal-Mart! This thing is huge. One on each end. I keep seeing it, figured I'd better take a picture of one. So, Voila!

Also.. I'm in the process of making a blanket. Out of this material..

Pretty, yeah?

I'll show you more once it's done :)

Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

Day 5!

Oops. I really did intend to post this yesterday, but, well .. I got distracted. Blame him. haha

So, all I've seen lately is my sewing machine and sewing box that I keep everything in and my thread.. I did decide last night to paint my nails.. but, I haven't done it yet..

So, ready for my day 5?

Thread. Sewing box design. How many stitch patterns does one machine need anyway? Hrm. Choices. What color to do my nails this time...

What is beautiful?

I'm really getting tired of all these little girls out here looking identical. Or at least, trying to look identical. When did it become such a problem for everyone to look different? Who was it that said, "If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die?" Shylock in Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice, right? Are people so closed minded that everyone needs to follow an appearance chart to be accepted?

Well.. Ya know what I say?

Dare to be beautiful in a unique way. Please.

Day Quatro! Thanksgiving!

So. Happy Thanksgiving again.. It's time for day four's picture update!

This one's gonna be a long one! Just a forewarning!!

We start the day getting the kids into the car.. or at least, trying to lol

We get to the restaurant and this very cool thing is out front. I needed to take a picture of it, because it was just so cute.

This was outside the restaurant. Very cool. Huge mural of the covered wagons, cowboys and indians, and all that jazz..

This was in the restaurant just as you walk in. It scared Mehkaelie. Cole loved it, and petted it.

While we were eating, I noticed, above our table .. was a burnt out light. SO annoying. So, yes, I had to take a picture.

Across the parking lot from the restaurant is a big store. It has all kinds of cool stuff.. here, are a few of those cool things.

On the way home there were SIX signs telling us which way to go. It was amusing. People must get lost out here easily... Don't worry, I'm only showing ya'll one.

There was also this trucker that kept wanting to stay crazy close to us. He'd speed up, slow down. Speed up, slow down.. So, I took a picture of his tires.

Once back in Mustang, we had pie!

It was cold. So, the fireplace was a must.

Boy.. these feet are not only tired. They're cold as well.

The End! Happy Day Four. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

A Time to be Thankful

Today is Thanksgiving! My third favorite holiday. Halloween and Christmas being my top two, of course.

So, I've been thinking a lot this week. (Oh no!) Not only about Thanksgiving, but what it actually means to be thankful.

Thankful as defined by dictionary.com is
-feeling or expressing gratitude; appreciative.

I remember at one point in my life, I honestly thought that Thanksgiving was a random day someone somewhere made up to get everyone together to eat. That's it. That's what I thought it was for quite a few years. Did I find it odd that occasionally someone would blurt out "what I'm thankful for this year..."? Sure. Did I care enough to inquire as to why they were being odd? Certainly not, my family has always been odd.

This year, we're not having a traditional Thanksgiving feast. We're not cooking. Up until here very (and I do mean VERY) recently, I felt that the biggest part of Thanksgiving was cooking and preparing the meal [while in tandem feeling thankful for having the food to prepare in the first place]. This year we're going out to eat. Yes, to a restaurant. But you know something I realized.. As much as I'd like to stay home and cook a traditional Thanksgiving meal and sit around with family members I don't know.. I think just getting to be together, have a meal together, laugh and share together.. will be enough.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone! Try to think of at least one positive thing today amongst the stresses, chaos and commotion of the holiday.. It will help, I promise.

Joir Trois

So day three has come and gone. And what did I discover today?

That chocolate covered cherries and vegetables must be the main staples of this holiday season.

The towers of these were much larger than they appear in the pictures.. I couldn't get good pictures because of how jam packed Wal-Mart was today. Geez.. You'd think it was Thanksgiving time or something ;)

While in Wal-Mart I passed this big huge bin of Coca-Cola ornament shaped bottles. I obviously, couldn't pass them up! So, I bought one. They're only a dollar, you should go pick one up, too!

Hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!!

Bootcamp for Internet Addicts

Wow. I just came across this article about a boot camp for internet addicts. It's located in South Korea and is an actual military-style boot camp laced with counselors to have sessions about this addiction.
The article states "Drill instructors drive young men through military-style obstacle courses, counselors lead group sessions, and there are even therapeutic workshops on pottery and drumming."

Has society (ours, theres, let's speak in general terms..) become so net-headed that we need things like this? In the article it mentions that "users started dropping dead from exhaustion" from playing online games and doing other online related activity. WOW! People actually, very literally, dropping dead from being online too long.. I just .. I can't wrap my head around it!

I know that I, for one, probably spend more time online than I should. I don't feel, however, that it keeps me from doing things I need to be doing; Such as taking care of my children, cleaning house, etc. I do have a few friends that I do worry about occasionally because of how often they're online or how serious they get about online gaming, etc.

I think it would be a good idea to have .. workshops .. or perhaps counselors for internet addiction. But, personally, I feel that boot camp is going a bit overboard..

2 yaD

I feel backwards today. I'm not entirely sure why.. Just started off kind of 'eh' and thus far is ending the same way. With the exception of Cole's good EEG results and Mehkaelie's adorable Thanksgiving feast thing, this day was fairly uneventful all around.

I did however manage to make another mini-very-purple-bag. More on it later, though.

----
As I just previously mentioned, Mehkaelie's class had their Thanksgiving feast thing today. It was really cute. Because I don't have permission from all the parents, I'm going to refrain from posting pictures with any of the kids on here. I will however show you how cute the room was decorated!

This morning I was literally laying around the house up until it was absolutely mandatory I get up and get dressed. I couldn't get myself up and around. I wanted to just go back to bed. So, I decided a trip to Sonic was in order. I haven't tried them, nor do I ever intend to, but I must say, these things look disgusting. I just can't fit in my head how these would be appealing..
The New MacNCheese bite things

I do however enjoy reading the cups. They amuse me..

While waiting for Mehkaelie's class to start, I had to get a picture of the very cool bench they have sitting out there. It, also, amuses me.

Oh, in case you forgot, today is the 20th!

And last, but not least, a random picture of the holey table, and my toes! Painted silvery purple! WoOt! That's hott right? haha

Coles EEG Results

Yay, Good News!!!!

His results came back within normal range! Whoooo! So, yes, that is beyond awesome.
They did say though, that he is at a higher risk for seizures any time he's showing signs of a cold or other sickness. His father had febrile seizures when he was little which increases Cole's likeliness of having them as well. So... basically - if he's showing signs of a cold, even a runny nose, or other sickness we need to take extra precautions to make sure he's not doing anything that would cause him to fall.. and if he starts getting a fever we need to take extra care to get it down faster than "letting it run it's course".

So.. Overall - Yay! Glad it's not a huge thing. They said that most children that have febrile seizures outgrow them within the first 5-10 years of their lives and not all kids that have them, get them every time they're ill. So. Okay. That's all!

Day 1

First day of this month long expedition with Tasia is over. Hooray!

Let's see what we have for you today!

This shot was taken of the water tower (and the sky) from the back of the parking lot at Mehkaelie's school. Followed by a closer-up of the water tower against the bright blue sky. So pretty, I think.

Two trees, because fall is just awesome. The first one is in front of Mehkaelie's school. It's so cool looking, green with red tips. The next is in betweenish her school, the leaves are almost all completely gone. Cool lookin! Whoo!

And then, two totally random pictures just because I know how much you love random.
The first is this stalker cat we have around here. It likes to come up to the house and kind of make random cat noises and what-not. Well, today it was hiding itself amongst all the fall leaves and I didn't even see it until I pulled up! So, of course, I had to snap a shot. This picture is followed by three mailboxes. These people moved into this house they had built back behind a vacant lot. They put up three mailboxes with the same names on them. No, I don't know why. I've never even seen the people. I take that back, I saw one of them one day. Taking out three trash bins....

A month with Tasia

So, we've all heard of the 365 blogs/albums, right? Where people take pictures of themselves everyday for a year.. Yeah, well, for one thing, I don't think people really care to see the same person over and over for a year of their lives, I know I don't anyhow, and b., I'm not going to put you people through a year of anything. So.. Instead, I decided to do a month. Not of me, but of my life. Things I see sporadically throughout the month. It will be at least one picture a day.. but it may be more like 5 or so. I'm also going to post them at the end of the day (unless something arises where I need to post them earlier) just in case I see something later in the day that I really want to add and don't have to edit the post or make a new one or whatever.. And if I miss a day, I will make it up to ya. Promise ;)

Keep in mind, these are mostly all going to be on a camera phone for the simple fact that it's always with me. Groovy? Yes? Awesome.

So, see you again tonight!

This month will be November 19-December 18. MIGHT extend a bit longer just to include Christmas and New Years.. We'll see.

New Phone, New Projects and Ladybugs

So, as most of you know or realized my cell phone was sent through the wash. No, not on purpose. I am still deciding if I want to stick with Virgin for good (very likely) or switch companies (doubtful). Either way, I got a new phone. And while I'm not loving it as much as I have others, I don't hate it. Far from. It's really actually a pretty neat little phone. :)

So, I woke up pretty early today. Especially for a Saturday.. Anyhow, I was bored. I decided to go find a bag, bad thing about having a phone that isn't a clamshell type is that I can't keep it in my back pocket at all times. So.. the search for a bag/purse/something began. But, I couldn't find one I liked. They were all either enormous or laughably small. Not to mention ugly. What the hell is this kick with tinkerbell? She's on everything! Anyhow, I decided to make my own. Which was actually kind of cool. I got to pick the fabric and all that jazz.. So.. What did I come up with?

See for yourself.

The first one is just a smaller one. Mehkaelie has adopted it for now..

And then this one I'm pretty much loving. I think it turned out awesome. I like the first one too, but, I think this ones much more me..

With handles out or in, either way I thin it looks cute!

And, lastly. Ladybugs. They are EVERYWHERE!!! I don't know why, but they are. And they really like to come in my house. So, Here are a few that decided to come in just seconds after opening my window. There are more in here now. Wee.

Hope you all are having a good weekend :) Do something creative!

You can never have enough fall

One more fall pic, just because you can never have enough of it.

So, amazingly enough, the four trees that come to a point together above my back yard are all different colors. Kind of cool, right?

Much thanks to Robby for help with this one.

My biggest secret is that I have so many secrets..

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." - Albert Camus

I just realized this morning that I have yet to make a post about Fall.
One of my favorite seasons ever and I completely forget about it. Sad.

So, to make up, not only will I make a blog about it, I'm also going to include pictures! WoOt! Lucky people ;-)

So. Fall. Autumn. Gorgeous. Reds, yellows, golds, browns, even some multi-shades of greens here and there. It's hard not to have your breath taken away. And no, not just because the wind gusts are knocking it out of you. Although, that is another thing I love about this season. Wind. I love wind. When the wind is blowing and wrapping around you, it's like nothing else in the world matters. Now, there are of course, exceptions to everything. This is mine. When it's cold wind. I do not like the kind of wind that is so cold you can actually feel your skin drying out from the sheer force of freezing being blown right in your face. [Especially when I'm sitting on a cold ass cement slab outside of a school in the middle of the wind tunneled area, for an hour.]

I know a lot of people that think Fall is depressing because of all of the "death" around. Lots of things die in the Fall. Only to make room for the newness of Spring, though. Right? If there weren't death, people wouldn't [or maybe couldn't] appreciate life. That's what I think.

So, without further ado..

It sure does make it easier to see the sky when there are no leaves in the way..

But it is awfully gorgeous watching the leaves change just before they disappear..

Santa's made to say "ha ha ha" instead of "ho ho ho"

Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.

Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.

One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute.

"Gimme a break," said Julie Gale, who runs the campaign against sexualising children called Kids Free 2B Kids.

"We are talking about little kids who do not understand that "ho, ho, ho" has any other connotation and nor should they," she told the Telegraph.

"Leave Santa alone."

A local spokesman for the US-based Westaff recruitment firm said it was "misleading" to say the company had banned Santa's traditional greeting and it was being left up to the discretion of the individual Santa himself.

Alright - Are you freakin' kidding me? People are trying to change what Christmas is so that women don't get offended? PSH! Offend them, that's just ridiculous. Why would they get offended unless there was a reason to be offended? Damn Ho's.

You said you were there for me You wouldn't let me fall All the times I shared with you Were you even there at all? No where to run And no where to hide You're scared of the truth I'm tired of the lies Cause who I am Is where you wanna be

Don't act like an angel You're fallen again You're no superhero I've found in the end So lie to me once again And tell me everything will be alright Lie to me once again And ask yourself before we say Goodbye Well goodbye Was it worth it in the end?

Why'd you have to up a run away? A million miles away I wanna close my eyes and make believe That I never found you Just when I put my guard away It's the same old story You left me broken and betrayed It's the same old story

Don't act like an angel You're fallen again You're no superhero I've found in the end So lie to me once again And tell me everything will be alright Lie to me once again And ask yourself before we say goodbye Well goodbye Was it worth it in the end?

Lie to me once again It's the same old story Lie to me once again It's the same old story Was it worth it in the end?

Numb

She would change everything for happy ever after..

she loves her momma's lemonade
hates the sounds that goodbyes make
she prays one day she'll find someone to need her
she swears there's no difference between the lies and compliments
it's all the same if everybody leaves her

and all the magazines tells her she's not good enough
the pictures that she sees makes her cry

she would change everything, everything, just ask her
caught in the in between of beautiful disaster
she just needs someone to take her home

she's giving boys what they want
trying to act so nonchalant
afraid to see that she's lost her direction
she never stays the same for long
assuming that she'll get it wrong
perfect only in her imperfection

she's not a drama queen
she doesn't wanna feel this way
only 17 and tired, yeah

she would change everything for happy ever after
caught in the in between of beautiful disaster
she just needs someone to take her home

she's just the way she is
but no one's told her that's okay

she would change everything, everything, just ask her
caught in the in between of beautiful disaster

she would change everything for happy ever after
caught in the in between of beautiful disaster
she just needs someone to take her home
she just needs someone to take her home

Beautiful Disaster - Jon McLaughlin - Lyrics from SongMeanings

Sometimes you have to be reminded and remind them..

It was a cold California,
Even in the summer
She was wrapped in a blanket by the pool
There were rapid statements
About life commitments
A sense of heat that I couldn't bear to touch
I couldn't bear it

It's not your fault,
So please stop your crying now
It's not your fault,
So please stop your crying now
Please stop your crying now
Now

There was staring in seclusion
A fine tuned way of motion
A face wrapped for a suitor
The sound of hearts pumping at the same beat
Coming around the corner
In almost all directions
A sense of heat that I couldn't bear to touch
No, I couldn't bear it

It's not your fault,
So please stop your crying now
It's not your fault,
So please stop your crying now
So please stop your crying

Now you wait for something to cure this
While I'm here under your down pour

It's not your fault,
So please stop your crying now
It's not your fault,
So please stop your crying
It's not your fault

It's not your fault,
So please stop your crying now
I'ts not your fault,
So please stop your crying now
No,
It's not your fault,
So please stop your crying now
It's not your fault
Please stop crying now

It's Not Your Fault - New Found Glory - Lyrics from SongMeanings

---

Well if you wanted honesty that's all you had to say
I never want to let you down or have you go, it's better off this way
For all the dirty looks
For photographs your boyfriend took
Remember when you broke your foot from jumping out the second floor?

I'm not okay
I'm not okay
I'm not okay
You wear me out

What will it take to show you that it's not the life it seems?
I told you time and time again you sing the words but still don't know what it means
To be a joke and look
Another line without a hook
I held you close as we both shook for the last time
Take a good hard look

I'm not okay
I'm not okay
I'm not okay
You wear me out

Forget about the dirty looks
The photographs your boyfriend took
You say you read me like a book
But the pages all are torn and frayed

I'm okay
I'm okay
I'm okay now
I'm okay now

But you really need to listen to me
Because I'm telling you the truth
I mean this
I'm okay
Trust me

I'm not okay
I'm not okay
Well I'm not okay
I'm not o-fucking-kay
I'm not okay
I'm not okay

Wanna go to dinner with me?

I came across an article in a magazine (Nick Magazine) about some very bizarre restaurants. Most of which, I would try to eat at! These were just too cool, I thought I would share them with all of you. I'm just going to use what they say about them in the article.. I'm not including a few because I couldn't find any online-info about them besides random news articles, etc.

First on our journey ..

Dinner In The Sky
After a big meal at Dinner in the Sky, you might feel the need to loosen your belt. Don't - it's holding you in your seat...which is 150 feet up in the air, with no floor beneath it.
Dinner in the Sky is a company in Brussels, Belgium, that rents out a specially designed table that is suspended by a crane high above the ground.
The table has a platform in the center containing a small kitchen where staff members cook and serve the food.
The meal isn't the only thing that's high - the price is, too. Renting the table for eight hours costs more than $10,000 - and that doesn't include the food. For an extra fee, you can hire another crane to hoist a band up to your level for a little dinner music. One thing you can't get, though - a Restroom in the Sky.
Don't drop your fork. haha

Moto
At Moto in Chicago, the menu looks good - and it tastes good, too. After you're done reading it, you can crumble it up in your soup. Executive chef Homaro Cantu uses food-based inks and edible paper made from soybeans and starch to create the tasty menus. Sometimes he serves pictures that taste like what they depict - a beef-flavored cow, for example. Homaro also likes to invent hi-tech gadgets that add an edge to dining. He has tried to make foods levitate by injecting them with helium, but that idea hasn't fully gotten off the ground, yet.
haha now you can no longer say "that looks good enough to eat" about the menu, since you really CAN eat the menu. Mmm Menu.

Dans le Noir?
You don't have to worry about what to wear when you dine at Dans le Noir?, since no one is going to see you eat. In fact, it might be a good idea to wear clothes you don't mind getting stained. At the restaurant, you eat your meal in total darkness, feeling around on the plate for the food, and trying to remember where your glass is. (The servers, who are blind, are always ready to help.)
The founder of the restaurant, Edouard de Broglie, claims that when you can't see, your other senses become sharper, and so eating becomes a more intense experience. Dans le Noir?, which is French for "In the Dark?", has branches in France, England, and Russia, but similar restaurants have opened around the world.
I wonder what else goes on in these restaurants in the dark ;)

Ithaa
Even if you order steak at Ithaa, you'll get fish. Not on your plate, but all around you. Located 16 feet below sea level off Rangali Island in the Asian nation of the Maldives, Ithaa is completely underwater. Copied from a tunnel design used in aquariums, the arch-shaped restaurant is made of transparent acrylic (except for the floor). The eatery seats just 14 people, so every table has a great view of the undersea life. And the undersea life has a great view of what's on your plate. Maybe you should order the steak.
I wonder if it's cold in there? Or loud at all ..

So .. Who wants to take me to dinner?

EEG update

So, yes, we had the EEG this morning. We got lost, and still got there early. So.. hey, that's just awesome, right?

While we were waiting, Cole was really getting excited. He thought that place was just awesome. He was running around, jumping on things, screaming so he could hear himself echo. It was cute, but I was worried that he wasn't going to fall asleep like they needed him to. And.. I was wrong.

He fell asleep like a champ! Took about 15 minutes of him fussing and fighting and getting pissed off at us for trying to get him to calm down until he finally gave in and started snorin' away!
He was so good and sleeping so well they decided I could hold him for the test instead of having to lay him on a bed and risk him waking up. We just had to both sit very, very still. For an hour. Oww. It was kinda painful lol But hey, it was fine.

The pediatric neurologist is going to be checking out the scans and let our doctor know how things look, who will in turn let us know how they look.

The tech was a bit concerned with his heartbeat, she's wondering if he doesn't have an irregular heartbeat or maybe a bit of a murmur. We'll find that out soon as well..

Mehkaelie did really well. She sat with her grandma in the waiting area and they read books together. She really enjoyed spending time with her grandma and her grandma really seemed to enjoy spending time with her, too.
We also made it back in time to get Mehkaelie to school on time! Whoo! Bonus! haha I was worrying about that, as most of you know. But, we did it.

So .. Here's crossing our fingers and toes and hoping everything comes out great!

PS - During the tests, they flash lights toward his eyes to see if there is any seizure activity in the brain from the lights. They almost gave ME a seizure. I was about to lose my mind. Then it just became funny because the lights kept getting faster and faster until it sounded like someone flipped a ruler on the edge of the desk and it went derderderderder haha.

PSS - I really dislike hard tacos. Gag.

One Long Day

So I am in what is going to be one of the longest days I've had to endure in a long, long, long time. You might be wondering to yourself, "What do you mean, Tasia?".. Well, I'll tell you.

Yesterday, I decided I was drinking entirely too much caffeine and needed to chill on it for a while. Smart as I am, I decided not only to cut it out, but to do it all at once. Wow. Bad idea. I got the worst headache I've had in a very long time, on top of feeling like crap all over due to mother nature. Wee. Anyhow, I went to bed early, really early, last night and slept clear through until 6 this morning. I woke Cole up shortly thereafter. He was up by about 6:30ish and fully awake by 6:45.

My Goal
My initial idea was to keep him up all day today, then let him sleep a little bit tonight before waking him up again for the long haul, until in the morning, when he could go back to sleep at the doctors office for his EEG. In which, he does have to be asleep for. No if and's or but's about it.

What Really Happened
That however, did not work out how I planned. He is, right now actually, napping. So, my plans changed a bit. I figure now, I'll let him sleep until he decides to wake up tonight. And then just keep him up with possibly a two hour nap sometime during the night. Not sure on that yet. We'll see.

Tomorrow
So what's going on is I'm staying awake. I know if I fall asleep, chances of me waking up are slim. Especially after being up so long. So, I'm staying up through tomorrow and I'll be going to bed sometime around 9-10pm tomorrow night. With any luck.

I'm going to Wal-Mart tonight to get some munchie food that will assist in keeping me awake. Like I need to be munching at all hours of the night, but hey, it's that or fall asleep. I need to come up with a few more ideas that will keep me up .. hmmm .. Any thoughts?

Ratatoullie - I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry

Ratatoullie

Starring voices of Patton Oswalt, Ian Holm, Peter O'Toole, Janeane Garofalo

This movie is absolutely adorable. Its a double bonus if you're into cooking/food and such. It's very funny and an all around very sweet movie. It's excellent for kids.. well, the whole family really. I'd definitely recommend this movie:)

I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry

Starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Jessica Biel, Dan Aykroyd

Oh my gosh .. this movie was hilarious. I was definitely laughing through 90% of the movie. It's also one of those movies that has a good point if you pay attention.
I can see how some [close minded] people would get offended by this movie. So, if you are offended easily by homosexuality, you don't want to see this movie. Otherwise, the rest of you should watch it immediately! I'd definitely recommend this movie to open minded, humor loving people.

Thus begins another week...

Is there anything more exhausting than Monday's? I think it's mostly due to the fact that after weekend activities, or lack there of, Mondays come and people would rather just laze around. Even though, yeah, that's what the weekends are for.. I don't know .. I guess it would be that way no matter what day was "back to life" day.

On another note.. Ratatoullie comes out tomorrow. Mehkaelie is really excited about having it on DVD. I have to admit, I am too ;)
More on miss Mehkaelie.. she's really getting excited about Christmas as well. She's already wanting to write Santa a letter and tell him what she wants. I'm trying to get her to wait until after Thanksgiving.. Why? seems to be the question to this.. Because, I don't like when holidays smooshed into one big event. But, also, because we always wrote ours the first [week] of December. Kind of .. getting into the Christmas spirit. We still have Thanksgiving spirit to get into right now! So, anyhow .. she's still doing good in school. She was reading full sentences to me this morning. Wee! We've been reading a LOT lately. Not just one story a day, here lately it's been two or three. I'm happy about it, and she really enjoys it as well.

Onto Cole? Okay! Cole is doing pretty well. He absolutely hates his meds. One of them I can't even get him to take. I've had to mix it in something the last few days to get him to take it, and while that's worked somewhat, it takes him hours to finish it. As far as showing any issues with the meds or otherwise, he's actually doing pretty well, he is finally complaining about his ears hurting, which I'm told is pretty good, it means the infections working it's way out. So .. yay!

And myself. I'm doing okay. I really need to clean this house, as per usual. I feel a funk coming on. Not sure how this one's going to go .. hopefully it won't stay long. I woke up this morning wanting to just cry. That or just crawl under the blankets and not look at anyone.
I am now being beckoned to make a snack for the kids before dinner. They think they're starving .. So, off I go.

Triple Movie Review

Wow, aren't you lucky? Three movie reviews in one post!

First up ..

Spiderman 3

Starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Topher Grace.

This movie has been proclaimed to be the best Spiderman of the three thus far.
So, do I agree?
Well .. let's see ..
The first Spiderman introduced us to everyone. Essentially giving us a run-down on "who's who" and "what's what". We were introduced to the first villain, Green Goblin, played by Willem Dafoe, and let in on the love that Peter Parker, Tobey Maguire, had for Mary Jane Watson, played by Kirsten Dunst. It also introduced us to Peter's best friend, Harry, who was also Norman's son. Norman of course also being the Green Goblin. Throughout this movie, we were shown the ups and the downs of being a hero. What it would cost you as well as what you would gain from it. So .. can you ever really beat the first in the series of movies?

Maybe.. how about the second?
In Spiderman 2, we saw how Peter Parker's personal life was falling apart due to always having to save everyone. More or less a "fix everything else and leave your own stuff for last". Which we know, never works the way it should. As rewarding as it was for him to be able to save others, it was also diminishing his personal life with friends and loved ones. He had to fight to save those he loves again because who he is keeps putting them in harms way. In this one we were introduced to Doc Ock, played by Alfred Molina, who is a lot of peoples favorite villain in the Spiderman world. While this wasn't my favorite, it was definitely an awesome movie.

So .. onto the third..
I'll keep it vague for those of you that haven't seen it.
Rants about this one .. The CG was absolutely awful. The music was nothing to write home about either.
The story did follow the previous two nicely, so that was good. There were multiple villains presented in this one such as Sandman, played by Thomas Haden Church; Venom, played by Topher Grace; and New Goblin, played by James Franco. It was far more .. "active" .. I think, than the other two. More fight and umph than story. No, I'm not saying there wasn't a storyline or that it wasn't great, but I personally think it could have been better executed.. The end was also a huge disappointment for me. For multiple reasons.. So, was this my favorite of the three .. No, it wasn't. But, I think you should definitely see it and make your own decisions. It was definitely worth watching and I don't feel at all like my time was wasted in having sat and watched it.

But, overall, I have to say - my favorite is still holding true at the first one.

----

The Omen (666)

Starring Julia Stiles, Leiv Schreiber

I was told by multiple people that this movie was insane freaky. And indeed, it was. I think all movies with little kids are haha Anyhow - while it wasn't "IT" scary (yes, IT still scares the shit out of me), it was creepy as heck. I jumped more than once, and OMG'd more than ten times.. Definitely recommend this movie if you want something to watch that gives you the go-ahead to hide your face in your boyfriends shirt or hold your girlfriends hand to keep her from being scared ;)

----

License to Wed

Starring Robin Williams, Mandy Moore, John Krasinski

HILARIOUS!! This is definitely a fun date-night movie. Robin Williams was absolutely hysterical in this movie. Mandy Moore and John Krasinski's characters worked well together and really gave you a believable feeling that they were so in love, then driving each other insane, and then devistated by the later happenings, and so on and so forth. It's definitely a laugh until you cry movie but also has a good moral behind it. It teaches you how to rely on your partner and really be there for them when they need you. Loved it.

Good News Update!

So as you know we had Cole's follow up today.

They are pretty confident of what caused it, which is a deep inner ear infection that's causing the fluids from it push on the back of his brain. When he hit his head, they think that the fluids kind of "sloshed" his brain, causing the seizure. So .. He's being medicated. Antibiotics and steroids. We have to watch him really closely and make sure he doesn't hit his head again for at least 2 weeks. If he does hit his head, he could have another seizure. And if he has another seizure this soon after the first one, for his body to protect itself, he'd probably slip into a coma. So.. Weee.

Anyhow .. that's what's going on right now. We've got an EEG scheduled for the 12th. They want to make sure this medicine has had a chance to work before we do the EEG to make for sure that it's what they think it is. Makes sense. 9am. Early. They want him sleep deprived. My guess is so that he'll sleep good when we get there and they can do the tests without having to drug him lol

So, whew. I'm happy about it. It definitely made me feel a lot more relieved. Now I'm happy that he's going to be okay, nervous about the next couple of weeks .. But we'll see how it goes!

Thank you all for your good thoughts, wishes, support and prayers. It really makes me feel good to know Cole is so loved!

On Edge

I have been so stressed out and on edge here lately with everything that's been going on .. I haven't slept and I know I haven't been the most pleasant person to be around/talk to.. But, I did something today that I didn't think that I would ever do.. I yelled at someone else's kid.

I thought today would be a good day to take Cole out and get him some fresh air, etc. while I took Mehkaelie to school. Of course the entire time I knew I was going to be a basket case any time he ran or climbed on something .. hell, I freak out when he does anything here at the house! Anyhow, one of the little boys up there was being a rowdy little four year old, as most are, and almost knocked Cole over twice. I was getting really nervous by this point but was still hoping that it wouldn't be an issue. Well, it became an issue. Cole was holding onto the back of the bench and leaning back a little and what not and the other child pried his fingers off the back off the bench making him fall backwards. My gut reaction was to jump up and grab Cole. I did. And while doing so, yelled at the other kid to not touch my son. I held Cole for a while before letting him get back down to play.

So .. do I think I over reacted? Maybe on some level .. I probably could have thought of something other than 'do not touch my son' if I had been able to think before reacting .. but, essentially, with everything that just happened with him, and wanting to be extra cautious, not to mention having asked the other child once before to be careful, I think I handled it about as well as any mother in my position would have. I did try to apologize to the boys mother for yelling at her son, and I am sorry for the 'knee-jerk-reaction' and wording.

While I'm apologizing though .. I am sorry for those others of you that I've snapped at the past few days over petty things. I know all of you have told me not to be, you'd be the same way, you understand, etc. and I thank you for being supportive, but I am still sorry for being bitchy.

I know after I talk to his doctor tomorrow and they get everything else checked out okay, I'll be a lot more like myself. Luckily, it's tomorrow. So, there's not much waiting to be had....
