So. Tired.

Forewarning: This post is going to be a lot of bitching and moaning and complaining.

As most of you know either by just knowing me or following my twits, things have been pretty shitty around here as of late.

Cole's seizures don't seem to want to subside. 10 in a 21 hour period (yes, that's equivalent to approx. 1 every two hours) doesn't give me much hope that they're going to go away on their own. We got him off of the Zonegran and now he's on Keppra. I hear good things about this medication but it's all from adults that have taken it or know someone taking it. No children. Hrm. Who knows. It can't be any worse than the Zonegran, right? Let's hope. So, fingers crossed this is going to help. We had an MRI on the 12th, won't get the results from that until next week sometime. our neuro is on vacation this week and next week is Christmas - so .. actually - come to think of it .. well shit, the week after that is New Years week. Hrm. Well we'll get the results from it sometime damn it.

Mehkaelie hyperextended her knee the other day at school causing her quite a bit of pain. When she fell because of it she also hurt her back a little. So.. She's going to be out of PE this week as long as they listen to me. I went and talked to the teacher this morning so hopefully they'll actually let her sit it out.

My dad was helping my sister move and fell on some stairs. Shattered his knee, broke his elbow and wrist and got a bunch of bumps and bruises. He's already had surgery on his knee and they had to replace his knee cap with a metal plate and put pins in it. His elbow and wrist are both casted up and should be relatively fine. He's learning how to get around with just the right side of his body functioning now so ..

--Random thought. My dad's cell # ends in 1661, the hospital's number that he's at ends in 6611. That's.. weird. Anyway --

So anyway, he might not be getting to go home today after all but pretty sure it will be sometime this week.

Oh, Cole is also going to have to have tubes put in his ears. I know, I know - it's a fairly common procedure and not a big deal. It's still going to make me worry slightly, though. Minor or not, he's still my baby and he's still only 3. Among everything else going on this just doesn't help my stress level any.

In other news, it is almost Christmas time! I bet you had all forgotten already, huh? Sheesh people, keep up!

Mehkaelie and Cole are both getting pretty excited. I am sad to say that I'm looking forward to it being over more than anything. With everything going on, I really just want to find one day that I can stay in bed all day long without interferance. That's not likely, though.
We've got presents under the tree already (granted, most of them aren't for anyone living in this house..) and the kids can't stay away from them.

It got COLD fast didn't it? Good lord. We've got the CH going and it's keeping things nice and toasty in here. I was worried at first because we haven't used it in 3 years but things seem to be going okay. Nothing has caught fire. House is still standing. Woo.

This is the last week of school for Mehkaelie until after the New Year. So that's cool. I'm happy about it. I was really wanting to be at the Christmas party - was supposed to be, actually since I'm the one that was put in charge of the whole thing. Oops. Not going to happen. Oh well, things happen. Family comes first. And the school won't allow younger siblings at the parties. So. There ya have it.

I do need to run to Wal-Mart here soon (again, third time today) and pick up party supplies since I did get sent home with the money after-all. I can drop it off in the morning.. That will work.

Hrm. I think maybe that's all. I'm just really tired. Everytime I start to get time to recover from one thing, something else happens. I am mentally and physically and emotionally exhausted right now. I'm probably not a very fun person to be around but hey - what can ya do.

I'm listening to the Rachel Morgan/The Hollows series audiobooks right now. They're really, really good. Each one is better than the last. Though, the 6th book is read by someone different than the first 5 were and that is VERY annoying. I prefer the first reader. This one doesn't even pronounce things the same way. Blah. Whatever. I'll manage.

*sigh*
Tah-Tah, Lovers.
